The road safety authority of the Deux-Sèvres Prefecture (France) is responsible for implementing the department’s road safety policy, and encouraging and assessing initiatives in this field.
The Prefecture has produced a boxed DVD set called “Intégrale sécurité routière” (Complete Road Safety Kit) that includes videos, testimonials, and modules explaining the consequences and irreversible damage of road accidents not just for victims but also for their friends and family and the person responsible for causing the accident.
This kit is used by the department’s road safety officers when giving road safety training courses to people who have committed road rule infringements, in public and private schools, Niort Prison and as part of programmes to improve parental awareness of road safety, especially through parent-teacher associations.
